🦶 Thick Tradie’s Heel 😬 Ever wondered why tradies get such thick, cracked heels? The answer is pressure. When your heels are under constant pressure all day in work boots, your body responds by building up thicker skin to protect itself. That callus might not seem like a big deal at first, but here’s what often happens… Come the weekend, the work boots come off and the thongs go on. ☀️ Without the support and protection of enclosed footwear, the thick skin dries out, loses flexibility, and starts to crack. Those cracks can become incredibly painful, make walking uncomfortable, and in some cases can become infected. In this video we’re carefully removing the excess hard skin (debriding the callus) to reduce the pressure and make the heel much more comfortable. But removing the callus is only part of the solution. ✅ Use a quality urea-based moisturiser every day to keep the skin soft and supple. ✅ Wear enclosed shoes whenever possible to reduce drying and excessive pressure. ✅ Have regular podiatry treatment every 6–10 weeks if your callus builds up quickly. Looking after your feet means you’ll be more comfortable on the job, on the weekend, and everywhere in between. If you’re tired of cracked, painful heels, don’t ignore them—they’re much easier to manage before they split. 👉 Learn more about looking after your feet and keeping them comfortable at https://ergonx.com.au #ergonx #TradieLife #CrackedHeels #FootCare #Podiatrist
