Hard corn and callus under the 5th metatarsal head? This one can be particularly tender because it sits right under a high-pressure area on the outside of the forefoot. In this video, our podiatrist carefully removes the hard callus using a number 15 blade. The approach depends on the history: • If it’s the first visit, we can usually gauge how sensitive it’s likely to be and remove a substantial amount safely. • If it was very tender last time, we may leave a small amount behind to avoid causing bleeding or post-treatment soreness. It’s always a balance between reducing pressure and keeping you comfortable. After treatment, we typically review again in 4–6 weeks to stay on top of regrowth and prevent it becoming painful again. Callus forms from repeated pressure. If you’re constantly getting build-up in the same spot, it’s often a footwear or biomechanics issue that needs addressing — not just trimming. 🔗 https://ergonx.com.au #podiatry #callusremoval #footpain #metatarsalgia #forefootpain
